Following last year’s success, the Department of Health is once again partnering with the Department of Education’s elementary and middle schools throughout the state to Protect Hawaii’s Keiki: Stop Flu at School.
Your child(ren)’s participation in this program will contribute to the health of our community. Studies show that school children vaccinated against the flu have fewer illnesses, fewer absences from school, and lower rates of illness in their families during flu season compared with unvaccinated children.
Watch for the consent forms that have been sent home with your child(ren) in August. Be sure to fill out EITHER the flu shot OR the flu nasal spray consent form and return it to school as soon as possible. The deadline to send in the completed form is Friday, September 5.
Aikahi Elementary School vaccination clinic date is: November 18, 2008.
Let’s all join together to Stop Flu at School!
